
Thunder announce schedule changes

WICHITA, KS- The Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced a pair of schedule changes involving the Wichita Thunder.
The game on Saturday, February 28th at the New Mexico Scorpions has been moved to Tuesday, February 24th at New Mexico. Game time is 8:05 p.m. Central. The game was re-scheduled to accommodate a concert at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday.
The Thunder also announced that the game on Wednesday, March 10th versus the Colorado Eagles will now face-off at 7:00 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for 11:00 a.m. It is Wichita's first ever DARE night and tickets for all elementary school students are just $4 each.
The Thunder will continue their quest for a playoff spot in the very competitive Northern Conference this weekend, hosting the Memphis RiverKings on Friday and the Oklahoma City Blazers on Saturday. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m. The Thunder, RiverKings, Blazers, Indianapolis Ice and New Mexico Scorpions are separated by just 10 points in the battle for the final two playoff spots in the Northern Conference.
Following Friday Night's game with Memphis, the Thunder will hold their first ever "Wedding on Ice". 36 couples will be married by T-95 FM morning show hosts and ordained ministers Phil and Hank in a 15-minute ceremony. The first 1500 fans in attendance on Friday the 13th will also receive "Jason" Hockey Masks, courtesy of Preferred Health Systems and Ginger Lynn Productions.
Saturday is "Cry Baby Night", in honor of Oklahoma City head coach Doug Sauter. Fans are encouraged to bring baby goods to the game to help aid the University of Phoenix "Open Your Heart for Newborns in Need" campaign. Needed items include baby wipes, blankets, bottles, car seats, coats, diapers, high chairs and strollers.
The Thunder will also be wearing special Valentine's Day jerseys, sponsored by the University of Phoenix. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the families supported by the Via Christi Foundation
