Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. * The Stockton Thunder has agreed to terms with right wing Jeff Worlton, Thunder head coach Chris Cichocki announced today. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We've skated a man short in our lineup lately and Jeff helps us fill that void," said Cichocki. "He brings an added dimension of grit that will compliment our team area of toughness."

Worlton is expected to be in the lineup for tonight's road game against the Alaska Aces and will wear jersey number 14. He comes to the Thunder out of the United Hockey League, where he has split the 2005-06 season between the Fort Wayne Komets and Roanoke Valley Vipers. He also spent the 2004-05 campaign at Fort Wayne, logging four points (2g-2a) in 68 games, along with 372 penalty minutes.

Worlton makes Stockton his third ECHL stop. He previously spent time with the Louisiana IceGators and Cincinnati Cyclones from 2001-04.

The Thunder returns to play on Wednesday with an 8:15 p.m. (PT) game on the road against the Alaska Aces. The game can be heard live on the internet (free-of-charge) and is available for viewing at a $6 "pay-per-view" fare at www.stocktonthunder.com, courtesy of B-2 Networks.

The Thunder will return home on Saturday, January 28th at 7:30 p.m. (PT) to face the Long Beach Ice Dogs.
