
Everblades Fall to Falcons, 4-1

FRESNO, CA - The Florida Everblades (25-10-2) saw their three game winning streak come to an end with a 4-1 loss to the Fresno Falcons (21-6-8) on Tuesday night at the Save Mart Center. The Falcons used 39 saves by goaltender Brett Jaeger to help pick up their fourth straight win on home ice.
After a scoreless first period, the teams combined for three second period goals. The Everblades opened the scoring with a power play goal by Phil Aucoin at 7:36 of the frame. Fresno however answered with an even strength goal by Cory Murphy at 8:56 to tie the game at one. Derek Krestanovich notched his ninth goal of the season for Fresno firing a shot past Everblades goalie Phil Osaer with just 1:43 remaining in the period to give the Falcons a 2-1 advantage.
In the third period Fresno tacked on two goals to extend their lead. John Wroblewski opened a 3-1 lead for Fresno with a power play tally at 17:01 of the final period. The Falcons sealed the win on Rob McFeeter's fifth goal of the season with 2:14 remaining.
Osaer suffered the loss allowing four goals on 31 Fresno shots bringing his record to 12-4-2. Jaeger stopped 39 Florida shots en-route to picking up the win and raising his record to 14-4-6.
On the power play, the Everblades finished the night 1-for-3, while the Falcons converted one of their four chances on the man advantage.
The Everblades return to action on Friday, January 20 when they host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:30 p.m. eastern time from Germain Arena.
