
Channel 4 San Diego To Televise All-Star Game

SAN DIEGO - Channel 4 San Diego has announced that it will televise the 2006 Bud Light ECHL All-Star Game, which is scheduled to take place Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Fresno, Calif. The game is slated to start at 7 p.m. (PST), but will begin airing on Channel 4 San Diego at 9:30 p.m. (PST).
Sponsored by Bud Light and hosted by the Fresno Falcons, the 14th Annual ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition will be held at the Save Mart Center in Fresno. The Skills Competition will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. (PST).
Rookie winger Jesse Bennefield is the San Diego Gulls' representative on the National Conference roster. Bennefield currently leads the Gulls with 18 goals and is tied for second on the club with 33 points. His 18 goals are tied for third overall among ECHL rookies and his 33 points is tied for seventh among league freshman. This marks the third consecutive year that Channel 4 San Diego will televise the ECHL All-Star Game.
The television broadcast crew will be Darren Abbott of the South Carolina Stingrays, OLN analyst Neil Smith and Jack Michaels of the Alaska Aces. Abbott will be the play-by-play announcer with Smith doing color commentary for the fifth consecutive year and Michaels doing interviews with players, coaches and representatives from the ECHL and the National Hockey League.
