Thunder & Fans to Support the Children's Home Society

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that the sixth annual "Gift of Baseball" program will begin on Monday, November 22. The "Gift of Baseball" initiative is a way fans can share the experience of attending a professional baseball game with underprivileged families this holiday season.

In its first five years of existence, the program has allowed the Thunder to donate a total of 3,256 tickets to the Children's Home Society.

For each Season Ticket, Half Season Ticket, Mini Plan and Pic-A-Plan purchased between November 22 and December 22, the Thunder will provide tickets for one family to attend a game. Each of the families who receive the tickets will be part of the Holiday Gift Outreach program run by Children's Home Society.

"Our fans and corporate partners deserve a big "thank you" for supporting this initative every year," said Thunder General Manager Will Smith. "We're hoping even more families can visit our ballpark next season because our fans do some holiday shopping with us."

Trenton Thunder Mini Plans will go on sale to the general public for the first time on Monday, November 22. The plans include five or six of the most popular games on the schedule, free food at each game, a Trenton Thunder hat, a complimentary ticket to Opening Night and start as low as $55. Last season, the Thunder sold a record number of Mini Plans.

The Children's Home Society of New Jersey provides at-risk children and their families with a range of services that empower them to achieve their potential. They are child-oriented, family focused, community based, and outcome-oriented.

The 2011 Trenton Thunder season will begin on Thursday, April 7 at New Hampshire with the home opener set for Thursday, April 14 versus Harrisburg.
