The Saskatchewan Hockey Association and Hockey Manitoba were pleased to announce the members for Team West who will be competing in the Under 17 World Hockey Challenge in the Alberni Valley, British Colombia from December 29, 2008 to January 4, 2009.
Among those named were Current Warriors Quinton Howden and Dylan McIlrath along with Warriors Bantam selection Kendal McFaull.
Quinton Howden's proven offensive abilities are sure to be an asset to Team West. So far this season the rookie has tallied 5 goals and 7 assists for 12 points. Teammate Dylan McIlrath has also shown to be a solid up & coming defenseman in the Western Hockey League. The 6'3, 197lbs native of Winnipeg, MB is sure to have a presence on the blueline for Team West in International competition.
McFaull, a 6'2 200lbs prospect who currently plays with the Saskatoon Contact of the SMAAAL will join McIlrath on the blueline. The native of Rosetown, SK was the Tribe's 4th round (72nd overall) in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.

Players first take part in regional camps. The top players from each region then compete against each other in a Spring Tournament, and from there, the top players attend a Summer Camp. Eleven (11) players are then chosen from each of the Manitoba and Saskatchewan Branches to form Team West. Team West will look to continue their strong showing at this event, and will contend for a medal.
