Three Tornadoes Named 2011 Can-Am League All-Stars

Chris Colabello, Mark Minicozzi and Nick Salotti were named to the CanAm League All-Star Team on Tuesday.
Colabello finished second in the league in all three Hitting Triple Crown Categories: Batting Average (.348), Homeruns (20) and Runs Batted In (79). He led the league in Total Bases (219), Extra Base Hits (52), Doubles (32) and Slugging Percentage (.600). The First Baseman ended the 2011 campaign second in both Runs (75) and Hits (127), and fourth in On-Base Percentage (.410). The Milford, Mass. native was the only Tornado to play in all 92 contests. He won the Pointstreak CanAm League Player of the Week Award twice in 2011, each time hitting .500 with multiple homers.
Minicozzi was seventh in the league in Batting Average with a .328 mark. The Third Baseman was fourth in RBI, knocking 77 Tornadoes runners in. He was one of four Worcester hitters with 15+ homers (hitting exactly 15), and one of two with 100+ hits (recording 106).
Salotti led all CanAm Hitters with 23 homeruns and batted just under .300 (.298) to go along with his 74 RBI (good for fifth in the league). Nick and five other Worcester batters scored 60 or more times, pacing the league's second-best offense. (The Tornadoes tied the Brockton Rox with 523 runs scored, while the Newark Bears scored 531.) The Designated Hitter notched the Pointstreak CanAm League Player of the Week Award once this season, hitting three bombs and knocking 12 runners in.
The Tornadoes' offense as a whole led the league in Homers (98), RBI (487), On-Base Percentage (.369) and Slugging Percentage (.450).
