The United States Hockey League announced today the participants for the 2009 USHL Prospects/All-Star Game to be played on February 4th at the Sioux Falls Arena at 7:05 PM. The West Division roster includes Stampede defensemen Max Grover and Blake Thompson as well as forward David Eddy.

The teams were chosen by division, with one team representing the East Division and the other team representing the West Division. Each team will consist of 20 players - two goaltenders, six defensemen and 12 forwards. Players were chosen for the rosters by a vote of the league's coaches. Coaches are not allowed to vote for players that are on their rosters.

Grover is in his second season with the Herd and is the Stampede's top scoring defenseman with nine points (2g, 7a) in 22 games this season. He also boasts a team leading +8 rating and one of his two goals was a game winner. The Kentwood, MI native will be making his first All-Star Game appearance.

Thompson is in his first season with the team and has one goal in 29 games. The Eden Prairie, MN native was ranked 81st overall by NHL Central Scouting in their mid-term rankings.

Eddy is also in his first year with the Stampede and leads the team in scoring with 31 points (11g, 20a) in 31 games. His 31 points and 20 assists rank eighth overall in the USHL. The Woodbury, MN native has already committed to play collegiate hockey at St. Cloud State University.
