Three Recalled from Toledo

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that Chicago has reassigned forward Terry Broadhurst to Rockford from the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. Additionally, the IceHogs have recalled forward Brandon Svendsen and defenseman Ben Youds from Toledo.
Broadhurst, 24, has registered 12 goals, 19 assists and a plus/minus rating of +13 in 36 contests with the Walleye during his rookie year. The forward's 31 points rank second on the team.
In 2011-12, the Orland Park, Ill. native joined the IceHogs following his junior season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Broadhurst dished out two assists in eight games with the Hogs in "11-12. Prior to coming to Rockford, Broadhurst was the captain of the Mavericks and finished second on the team in scoring with 36 points and 16 goals. The winger also chipped in 20 assists during the 2011-12 campaign.
Svendsen, 27, has recorded four points (1g-3a) and a plus/minus rating of +2 in four games with Toledo despite missing the first part of the 2012-13 campaign due to injury.
During the 2011-12 campaign, Svendsen competed in his third professional season, appearing in five contests with the Binghamton Senators and 28 games with the Kalamazoo Wings before joining Rockford in mid-January. In 39 tilts with the IceHogs, the Maplewood, Minn. native tallied four goals and 10 assists.
Youds, 24, comes to Rockford pacing all ECHL defenseman in scoring with 27 points (4g-23a). The Maple Grove, Minn. native also shows a plus/minus rating of +10 in 33 games with the Walleye. On Thursday, Youds was also named to the 2013 ECHL All-Star game.
The 2011-12 campaign marked Youds' first professional campaign, and the d-man notched 17 points (4g-13a) in 57 games for Rockford as a rookie. Youds also appeared in one contest with the Walleye, tallying the game-winning goal in overtime on Dec. 27, 2011. The 24 year-old was named Rockford's Most Improved Player in 2011-12.
Next Home Game: Wednesday, Jan. 9 vs. Grand Rapids. Puck drop is 7:05 p.m. After four straight contests in Grand Rapids, the IceHogs and Griffins finally meet in Rockford. Wednesday is another WXRX Dollar Day as fans can take advantage of dollar beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets.
