Three-Peat at Top of Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

TEMPE, AZ (January 18, 2011) - For the third consecutive poll and for the fourth time this season, the Allen Americans have been voted the #1 team in the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll. The Americans are the number one team in the league with a 27-7-1 record and 55 points (12 more than the next closest team). The Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn nine points, etc.

Nine of the top 10 teams remained the same with the lone change being the Tulsa Oilers (19-18-1) entering the poll at #10 replacing the Dayton Gems (18-14-3). The biggest move in the poll came from the Quad City Mallards (21-16-0) who moved from #9 to #6.

Rounding out the top five are the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (21-14-1) at #2, the Colorado Eagles (19-12-2) at #3, the Bloomington PrairieThunder (20-13-1) at #4 and the Missouri Mavericks (19-13-3) at #5.

The Odessa Jackalopes (18-14-4) join Bloomington and Quad City as the only teams that made a move upward in the most recent poll.
