COLUMBIA, SC (September 26, 2005) - The Columbia Inferno announce that three Mississippi Sea Wolves, center Jay Legault, defenseman Chris Cava and left wing Nick Greenough each have signed for the 2005-06 season. Mississippi suspended operation for the upcoming season due to damage to their arena from Hurricane Katrina.

Legault, 6'4, 220 lbs., Peterborough, Ontario native, is entering his sixth professional season and is one of the veterans on the Inferno this year. He notched a career high of 19 goals, 41 assists and 60 points in 61 games for the Sea Wolves last year and was their second leading scorer. Other action he has seen in the ECHL with the Baton Rouge Kingfish, Dayton Bombers, and the Florida Everblades. Legault has played 148 games with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and 43 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League over the last six years.

"Jay is a veteran player in the ECHL and has some American League experience," said Head Coach Ted Dent. "We will rely on him for his offensive ability as well as his leadership skills."

Cava, 6'0, 200 lbs., Thunder Bay, Ontario native, played three seasons with the Mississippi Sea Wolves. During the three seasons, he played 168 games, contributed 11 goals, 33 assists and 605 penalty minutes. Prior to joining the Sea Wolves he played for the Roanoke Express of the ECHL.

"Chris was a heavily sod after by many teams and we feel very fortunate to have signed him. He brings many dimensions to our hockey team; solid defensive play, toughness and leadership. We are excited to have him join his ex-teammate and good friend Jay Legault," said Coach Dent.

Greenough, 6'4, 225 lbs., Windsor, Nova Scotia native, played 55 games with the Sea Wolves, scoring 11 goals, 12 assists and 298 penalty minutes. He also played for the Augusta Lynx and the Reading Royals of the ECHL. He has spent time in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose, Providence Bruins, Grand Rapids Griffins, Lowell Lock Monsters, Houston Aeros and the Springfield Falcons.

"Nick comes highly recommended from the Mississippi coaching staff. He is a big up and down left-winger that plays with an edge and will also add some leadership qualities to our dressing room," said Coach Dent.

The Columbia Inferno opens their fifth season in the ECHL Friday, October 21st against the Greenville Grrrowl at 7:05pm. Season and partial ticket packages are still available.
