
Roadrunners add to hockey operations staff

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have announced the completion of their hockey operations staff with the additions of Equipment Manager Jeff "Smoke" Adams and Athletic Trainer Jonathan Willey.
Adams, 37, has spent 11 seasons working in professional hockey as either a head or an assistant equipment manager, including a two-year stint with the last incarnation of the Phoenix Roadrunners of the International Hockey League from 1994-96. Since that time, the Phoenix native has compiled tremendous experience with the Bakersfield Fog and Tucson Gila Monsters of the West Coast Hockey League, the Lake Charles Ice Pirates and Lubbock Cotton Kings of the Western Professional Hockey League, and for the past three seasons with the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League. Adams will reach a personal milestone when he works in his 700th career game on November 11 vs. Long Beach.
Willey, 28, has been the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Arizona State University since July, 2004 working with the school's 20 athletic programs and over 500 student-athletes. He also serves as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Sun Devils' nationally ranked Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country teams. Prior to joining the staff at Arizona State, Willey spent two years at Bowling Green State University as both the Assistant Athletic Trainer and Interim Head Athletic Trainer where he worked exclusively as the head trainer for the Falcons Men's Hockey team. Willey received his Masters Degree in 2002 from Washington State University.
RoadRunners professional hockey returns to downtown Phoenix at 7PM on Saturday, October 22 when the Utah Grizzlies visit America West Arena in the ECHL season opener for both teams.
