Portland Thorns FC News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) today announced that Portland Thorns FC midfielder Crystal Dunn has been named to the NWSL Best XI of the Month, presented by Mastercard, for the month of May. Dunn was also named to the NWSL Best XI for March/April.
Dunn started all four regular season matches for Portland in May, logging 331 minutes, including back-to-back 90-minutes performances against the North Carolina Courage (May 6) and Houston Dash (May 12). In those matches, Dunn registered three goals and one assist for Thorns FC. Dunn notched a brace on the road against North Carolina in a 3-3 come-from-behind draw. It was her sixth career brace in NWSL play, including playoffs, and her first with Portland. On May 21, Dunn recorded her first assist of the campaign and tallied her fifth goal, helping Portland earn a 4-0 home win against the Chicago Red Stars.
The NWSL Best XI of the Month is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association - a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis - and the NWSL's on-air broadcast talent.
