Recent form
Portland (4-4-4, 16pts) extended its road unbeaten streak to five matches (2-0-3) after earning a 1-1 draw on the road against the Chicago Red Stars on June 16. Midfielder Lindsey Horan, who will miss the match against Houston due to yellow card accumulation, tallied the game-tying goal in the 48th minute of the match, recording her fifth goal of the season. Notably, forward Hayley Raso made her first appearance of the season after returning from injury, logging 14 minutes in a substitute role.
Reaching 100
With an appearance on Friday, forward Christine Sinclair will reach 100 career games played for Thorns FC in the NWSL. Sinclair, who is also the club's all-time career leader in goals (37), minutes played (5,556) and game started (96) entering the match, would become the seventh player in league history to appear in 100 matches all with the same team.

Thorns FC lead the all-time series with a mark of 6-2-3, including a record of 2-1-3 on the road. Portland is unbeaten in its last five matches (3-0-2) against the Dash, outscoring Houston 9-3 during that stretch. Each of the last two meetings in Houston have finished in 1-1 draws, including the first match between the two sides this season on May 9.
