PORTLAND, Ore. - Coming off a 2-0 win on the road against Orlando in their 2019 season opener, Portland Thorns FC square off against the Chicago Red Stars in a road match on Saturday, April 20, at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill. Beginning at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific), the match features a live web stream available on Yahoo! Sports.
Against Chicago
Thorns FC lead the all-time series against Chicago with a record of 8-1-8. On the road, Portland is 4-0-5 all-time against the Red Stars. Lindsey Horan has a goal or an assist (2g, 1a) in each of her last three road matches against Chicago. Additionally, Thorns FC are unbeaten in their last 14 matches (6-0-8) against the Red Stars. Individually, Christine Sinclair has 10 goals in 16 career matches against Chicago, including three goals in three matches in 2018.
Heath in form
After registering a goal and an assist against Orlando on April 14, Tobin Heath has now scored a goal in five consecutive games and recorded a point in seven consecutive games. Her seven games with a point is tied for the longest individual streak in club history. Heath recorded her 22nd career assist in Thorns FC's match against the Pride, which is tied for the most assists in NWSL history. Additionally, her goal was the 10th of her career with Portland, making her the fourth player in club history to record 10 goals and 10 assists.
On the road
With their match against the Red Stars on Saturday, Thorns FC continue their six-game road stretch - the longest stretch of consecutive road matches in club history to begin a season, due to completion work on the $85 million transformation of Providence Park. Portland posted the second-best record in the league (6-3-3) and registered the second-most wins (6) in 2018, while conceding just 11 goals. Dating back to the 2018 season, Thorns FC have now earned at least one point in five of their last seven road matches.
