
Thorns FC Midfielder Lindsey Horan Named NWSL Player of the Month

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC midfielder Lindsey Horan was named the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Month for July by the NWSL Media Association, it was announced today.
Portland posted a mark of 3-0-0 during the month of July with Horan featuring in two of Thorns FC's three matches, tallying three goals and an assist. Horan logged 90 minutes in a 4-0 win over Utah Royals FC on July 6 at Providence Park, scoring a goal and adding an assist in the match. On July 15, Horan registered her second career brace, helping Thorns FC earn a 3-1 victory against the Houston Dash at Providence Park, which moved her into a tie for the NWSL lead in goals scored (9).
It is the first time Horan has been named Player of the Month. It also marks the sixth time a Thorns FC player has received this honor, which is tied for the most in league history.
The NWSL Player of the Month is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of media that cover the league on a consistent basis. For more information on the NWSL Media Association, follow them on Twitter.
Thorns FC return to action with a road match against the North Carolina Courage on Sunday, Aug. 5, at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The Aug. 5 match kicks off at 3 p.m. (Pacific) and features a live web stream available at www.nwslsoccer.com and on the NWSL app.
