
Thorns FC Midfielder Hina Sugita Named NWSL Budweiser Player of the Week

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC midfielder Hina Sugita was named NWSL Budweiser Player of the Week for her two-goal performance against San Diego Wave FC on April 17, the league announced today.
The goals marked Sugita's first for Portland since joining the club ahead of the 2022 campaign. Sugita is the fifth player to score a brace in the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup, and first for Portland this year. Across all competitions, Sugita is the 10th player to register a multi-goal game for Thorns FC in club history. HIGHLIGHTS
Thorns FC will play their final group-stage match of the 2022 Challenge Cup against Angel City FC at Titan Stadium on Sunday, April 24; kickoff is set for 6 p.m. (Pacific) on Paramount+.
