Angel City FC News Release
LOS ANGELES - UNINTERRUPTED (UN), LeBron James and Maverick Carter's Sports Emmy winning athlete empowerment brand, and Angel City Football Club (ACFC), Los Angeles' newest professional soccer team, today announced the launch of a limited-edition apparel collection. The "UN x ACFC Write History" collection will be available for purchase Tuesday, April 26, on www.angelcity.com and The UNINTERRUPTED Store, and at the club's first-ever home game at Banc of California Stadium on Friday, April 29.
In addition to the product collaboration, UNINTERRUPTED and ACFC worked together to produce a series of legacy videos that celebrate the former US Women's National Team members who are now ACFC founding investors and highlight the importance of women entrepreneurship, inclusivity, leadership and legacy unfolding in this historic moment. The content featuring ACFC founding investors Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy and Angela Hucles Mangano, three of the most recognizable trailblazers in women's soccer history, will tell the story of how each of these women continue to make history off the field and embody UNINTERRUPTED's core "More Than an Athlete" spirit.
"This is what is possible when women run companies, own companies, and lead companies," said Julie Foudy, former US Women's National Team star and ACFC founding investor. "Angel City can show people what is possible. We are showing all of these girls and boys what can happen when women lead, and that excites me."
The hoodie and t-shirt, designed by Elena Gumeniuk, celebrate the majority of the women-owned and operated club and serve as a reminder of the living legacy of women's entrepreneurship that laid the foundation for ACFC. The art on the back of each piece is a quill pen with an angel wing as the feather, symbolizing the history that is being written with ACFC's investment in women, community, and equity.
On the inspiration behind the pieces, UNINTERRUPTED states:
"Today, we celebrate this majority woman-owned and operated powerhouse, paving the way for young people all over the world who love this sport. Those who have dreams of becoming the next great star, coach, or franchise owner, and may not have believed it could be possible. Today, they have new heroes to look up to and new dreams to realize-empowered to be more than an athlete. There's no ceiling they can't break. To the women who rewrote the narrative. To the women who literally changed the game. Thank you."
