PORTLAND, Ore. - Playing their third match in eight days, Portland Thorns FC dropped their first result of the 2022 campaign tonight against OL Reign at Providence Park, a 1-0 loss. Portland will continue Challenge Cup play on Sunday, April 17, hosting expansion side San Diego Wave FC at 4 p.m.

Challenge Cup Form

Tonight's result ended an eight-game unbeaten streak in Challenge Cup play for Portland, posting a record of 5-0-3 in that span. It is the longest streak in the competition's history. In the 2022 Challenge Cup, Thorns FC are 2-1-1, and tied with OL Reign for first place in the West Division with 7 points. Portland and OL each have a league-high goal differential of three. Thorns FC have two games remaining in the West Division, hosting San Diego Wave FC at home (April 17) and facing Angel City FC on the road (April 24).
