Thorns FC Announce 2017 Preseason Roster

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC have announced their 2017 preseason roster as the team opened training for its fifth season in the National Women's Soccer League.

For a second straight season, Portland will play host to a preseason tournament. The 2017 Thorns Spring Invitational presented by Tillamook March 26-April 1 at Providence Park features the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team, Houston Dash and Chicago Red Stars.

The tournament will consist of three doubleheaders. Portland and Chicago will square off Sunday, March 26; kickoff is set for 5 p.m. (Pacific). Houston and the U.S. U-23s will face each other in the opening match at 2:30 p.m. (Pacific). On Wednesday, March 29, Chicago takes on Houston at 5 p.m. (Pacific), while Thorns FC play host to the U.S. U-23s at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific). Portland closes out the preseason tournament against Houston on Saturday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), while Chicago and the U.S. U-23s square off at 5 p.m. (Pacific).

Thorns FC open the 2017 season against the Orlando Pride on Saturday, April 15, at Providence Park; kickoff is set for 12 noon (Pacific) and features the first-ever NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime.
