Chicago Announces Preseason Roster

Chicago Stars FC News Release


CHICAGO - The Chicago Red Stars officially kick off the 2017 season with the first preseason training today, Monday, March 13. Over the course of the coming weeks, Head Coach Rory Dames and his staff will evaluate the roster and ultimately narrow it down to a group of 20 talented players.

The current roster has plenty of familiar faces that will be returning to Chicago, including U.S. Women's National Team members Alyssa Naeher, Julie Johnston, Christen Press and Casey Short, along with 2016 Best XI defender Arin Gilliland.

Chicago will take part in five preseason matches before the regular season begins, including traveling to Portland for the Thorns Invitational. The complete preseason schedule can be found here.

Week of March 13 Training Schedule:

Monday, March 13 | 2-4 PM | Athletico Center, Northbrook, IL

Tuesday, March 14 | 2-4 PM | Athletico Center, Northbrook, IL

Wednesday, March 15 | 2-4 PM | Athletico Center, Northbrook, IL

Thursday, March 16 | 7 PM | Exhibition Match vs. University of Wisconsin

Friday, March 17 | OFF
