Kitchener Rangers forward Ben Thomson was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
An eighth round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection, Thomson is coming off a career year in Kitchener that saw him set new personal benchmarks with 11 goals and 31 assists in the regular season. The Orangeville, ON-native also recorded five goals and five assists in the playoffs, helping the Rangers advance to the Western Conference Final.
In total, the gritty winger has scored 73 points in 181 regular season games in Kitchener.
