Thomas Continues Chase for MVP as AirHogs Wrap Series vs. X's

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - American Association Player of the Year Candidate Dillon Thomas continued his push for the award with a home run and two RBIs Sunday night at AirHogs Stadium. Texas entered the ninth down 5-2 vs. Sioux City before ultimately dropping the series finale by a final of 8-2.

Miguel Rosario (1-9) got the start for Texas and allowed five hits and four runs (four earned) while walking eight. His counterpart Justin Vernia (9-1) struck out ten in seven innings on the way to the win.

The contest was the third in the last four in which he has racked up multiple hits. Greg Golson and Han Jichao also finished the game with two hits. Du Yonghui posted a scoreless inning in relief in his American Association debut.

Nate Samson, Jose Sermo and Dylan Kelly paced Sioux City with two RBIs apiece. The Explorers outhit the AirHogs 10-8.

Texas (19-53) opens a fresh series in Kansas City tomorrow vs. the T-Bones (46-26). Starters for both teams are TBA for a 7:05 first pitch. A live broadcast of the game will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
