Indiana Fever News Release

NEWS & NOTES

- Katie Douglas was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week ending May 31. In three games this past week (2-1), Douglas averaged 19.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.7 rpg and 1.3 spg. With her game-high 25 points vs. Los Angeles, May 29, she scored 20+ points for the fourth consecutive game. She and Tamika Catchings are the only players in Fever history score 20 or more points in four straight outings. This is the third time in her career that Douglas has been named the Player of the Week.

- The Fever has drawn crowds in excess of 9,000 in each of its first three home games. That is one more home crowd of at least 9,000 than Indiana had all of last season.

- Playing in front of a Conseco Fieldhouse crowd for the first time in a Fever uniform, Bernadette Ngoyisa scored 14 points and claimed nine rebounds against the Los Angeles Sparks. In 25+ minutes, she shot 7-8 from the floor and was the only Indiana reserve to score. She tallied the Fever's last eight points of regulation and outscored the Sparks 6-2 in the final 2:07 of the fourth quarter.

- Tan White's 20 points against the Sparks featured 11 of the team's 13 points in the second overtime. That was one point short of the most by any player in an overtime period in WNBA history. White added a career-high 10 rebounds to give her the first double-double of her career.

- Ebony Hoffman enters this week having led the Fever in rebounds in four straight games and having had double-digit boards in three of those games. Her 13 rebounds at Connecticut tied her career-high. She posted the first double-double of her career with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the Fever's double-overtime win vs. Los Angeles. Hoffman is the first player, other than Tamika Catchings, to lead the Fever in rebounding in four straight games.

- Hoffman scored 12 points in the loss to Detroit, May 31, including 2-3 from 3-pt range. Not only were those her first 3-pt field goals of 2008, but that was the first time in her career that she has made more than one 3-pt FG in a single game.

- Against Los Angeles, the Fever had five players with at least two blocked shots each and the team set a WNBA record with a total of 15 rejections. Meanwhile, the Sparks had 12 blocked shots, the most ever by a Fever opponent. The total of 27 blocks between the two teams was also a WNBA record.
