Everett Silvertips News Release
The Everett Silvertips finished the week with a 2-1 record and moved up to 3rd place in the U.S. Division in the process. The week did not start off on a good note on Wednesday, November 19 against the Spokane Chiefs at the Everett Events Center. Chiefs forward Chad Klassen finished off the night with 3 goals to record the hat trick as the Spokane Chiefs down the Everett Silvertips 4-2. Tips' winger Chad Bassen added an unassisted goal in the 1st period and Marc Desloges tallied a power play goal in the 3rd stanza for the Silvertips in the loss. Everett out shot Spokane 35-24 in the hockey game. The Silvertips finished the night by converting on 1 of 9 power play opportunities and the Chiefs went 1 for 4 on the extra man advantage.
The Silvertips bounced back nicely on Friday, November 21 against the Tri-City Americans at the Everett Events Center. Marc Desloges and Devin Wilson scored goals and goaltender Jeff Harvey stopped all 27 Ams' shots to aid the Silvertips to a 2-0 victory. It was Harvey's second shutout of the season. The Silvertips out shot the Americans by a margin of 29-27. The Silvertips went 1 for 10 on the power play and the Americans went 0 for 3 on the extra man advantage.
The Tips' were back in action on Saturday, November 22 at Key Arena to face off with their I-5 rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds. The Tips' took a 1-0 lead late in the 1st period with a goal by Torrie Wheat. The T-Birds would come back quickly in the early stages in the 2nd period with a power play tally by Chris Durand to make it 1-1. As the game stayed tied going in late stages of the 3rd period, Tips' center Riley Armstrong ripped a shot past Seattle netminder Bryan Bridges for the game winner as the Silvertips win their 10th game of the season with a 2-1 victory over their arch rivals. Everett goaltender Jeff Harvey was outstanding in making 23 saves in the win. The Thunderbirds out shot the Silvertips by a margin of 24-21. The Tips' and the T-Birds each went 1 for 6 on the power play. With the win the Tips' move their record to 10-9-3-1.

TOP SCORERS
The Silvertips are led in scoring by Chad Bassen (9 goals, 8 assists) with 17 points. Bassen also leads the club with 9 goals scored. Barry Horman (4 goals, 12 assists) has added 16 points this season. Horman leads the Tips' with 12 assists. Everett has received a nice contribution from John Dahl (8 goals, 7 assists) and Riley Armstrong (6 goals and 8 assists).
IN HARVEY WE TRUST
Silvertips goaltender Jeff Harvey has moved up in the Top 10 in 3 goaltending categories in the WHL. Harvey is currently 9th in the WHL in Goals Against with a 2.46 GA, 6th in the WHL with 2 shutouts and 10th in the Western Hockey League in Save Percentage with a .914 %.

WELCOME BACK TYLER
Silvertips forward Tyler Dietrich is off the injury list. Dietrich played only 2 games this season. In the pre-season Dietrich recorded 4 goals and 3 assists in 3 games. Tyler was acquired by the Tips' from the Medicine Hat Tigers in the June expansion draft. Last season Dietrich scored 10 goals and added 19 assists for 29 points for the Tigers in 48 games.
SILVERTIPS SNEAKING UP ON PAST FIRST YEAR HOCKEY CLUBS
With the Silvertips 10th victory on Saturday, November 22 the Tips' are now 3 victories away from tying the 2001-02 Vancouver Giants who finished the season with a 13-49-6-4 (36 points) record and 8 wins away from catching the 1995-96 Calgary Hitmen who finished the season with a 18-51-3 (39 points) record. The Silvertips have already past the Vancouver Giants for road wins in a season. The Giants finished with a 1-32-3 road record in 2001-02. The Silvertips currently are 6-6-1-1 on the road this season.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The Silvertips will be back in action after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29 as the defending WHL Champions, the Kelowna Rockets come to the Everett Events Center for a back-to-back weekend match-up. Both games start at 7:05 p.m. Also before the games the Silvertips ask fans to bring in an unwrapped toy for a child to support Christmas House.
