Orlando City SC News Release
Notable Matches
May 17, 2015 vs. LA Galaxy - Orlando City's first-ever matchup with MLS's all-time winningest franchise was much-hyped, as Bruce Arena's defending champion Galaxy squad showed up to battle the expansion Lions and a crowd of 40,000-plus at the Citrus Bowl. Orlando City blasted Los Angeles to smithereens, running out 4-0 winners on the day. It was the first home victory for Orlando in MLS, with goals from Eric Avila, Cyle Larin, Kaká, and Darwin Cerén. The whole highlight reel is worth watching:
May 13, 2017 vs. Sporting Kansas City - While Orlando was unable to stretch their Exploria Stadium winning streak to six games, the Lions remained unbeaten at their new digs after a hard-fought 2-2 draw with SKC. Larin and Kaká had the goals for the Lions, while a little-known forward named Latif Blessing bagged a brace for Kansas City in his first MLS start. Blessing would later move to midfield and become one of the top players in MLS for LAFC. The match is notable primarily for Kaká's goal, one of his best for Orlando City (more on that below.)
Notable Moments
Before their 2015 match, Kaká joined several Galaxy players, including USMNT stars Gyasi Zardes and Omar Gonzalez, in surprising the USA Special Olympic soccer team with a pickup game.

Kaká's goal against Sporting Kansas City in 2017 was an MLS Goal of the Week nominee:
Yoshimar Yotún was named to Peru's provisional roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup this week. Yotún would go on to make the team and start each game of Peru's run in the tournament, as would current Orlando City goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.
