Third Eye Blind to perform after April 2 SaberCats game

San Jose SaberCats News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Mar. 16, 2006) - Bay Area rock band Third Eye Blind will treat Arena Football League fans to a post game concert presented by Premier Mounts following the San Jose SaberCats 3:00 p.m. (PT) game against the Arizona Rattlers on Sunday, April 2 at HP Pavilion.
After a successful debut last year, the SaberCats are continuing with their concert series again in 2006.
"Our post game concert last season was hugely successful," said SaberCats vice president Hank Stern. "We wanted to continue that and build a tradition of supplying our fans with the greatest entertainment experience in professional sports."
All fans with a ticket to the game on April 2 are invited to stay for the free post game festivities.
In the mid 1990s, Third Eye Blind spent a couple of years coming together, falling apart and coming together again, while playing on the barely-existent San Francisco club scene. But as soon as real opportunity presented itself - in the form of their self-titled 1997 debut album with Elektra - they took it, and took off.
The band scaled the charts with the album and its first single "Semi Charmed Life"; they then made clear their intention to stick around by reeling off four more undeniable rock anthems -- "Graduate," "How's It Going To Be," "Losing A Whole Year" and "Jumper." The album sold six million copies, and remained on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart for well over a year. Their 1999 follow-up, Blue, approached double platinum on the strength of the Stones-inflected single "Never Let You Go" and a sold-out worldwide tour that lasted a year.

Tickets for the game and the concert, ranging in price from $15 to $50, are still available by contacting any Northern California Ticketmaster outlet, online at ticketmaster.com and at the HP Pavilion at San Jose box office.
Group tickets and pro-rated season tickets are also available for the 2006 season by contacting a sales representative at (408) 573-5577. More information can be found on the SaberCats official website www.sanjosesabercats.com.
