Amarillo Gorillas News Release
Amarillo, TX 8/1/08 - The biggest, most ferocious animals in Amarillo will soon be terrorizing the Center City area.
Stomp and Lloyd will soon have a new home, as the Amarillo Gorillas are pleased to announce the relocation of their main offices.
The Gorillas' front office staff will be moving to downtown Amarillo effective September 3. The new business offices will be located at 901 S. Buchanan, just a few blocks south of the Amarillo Civic Center.
"A change in front office location is something our team has considered in the past," said Gorillas owner Randy Sanders. "By making it a reality, our fans will enjoy easier access to the ticket office and our team will enjoy better visibility to the Amarillo market."
A "vine cutting" is scheduled for September 3rd to celebrate the grand opening of the new offices. Attendees will have an opportunity to browse the fresh Gorillas habitat, as well as partake in food and refreshments provided by the Gorillas' corporate partners.
The new locale will prove advantageous to the team in more ways than one, as the Center City area will provide improved marketing opportunities to the Panhandle's only professional hockey team.
"The roof is flat, so it will be a great place to put Lloyd, our 35-foot inflatable Gorilla," said Sanders. "We will also be able to participate in other downtown activities. The building is located directly across from the downtown post office, giving us the opportunity to interact with the community in ways that are not possible with our current office location."
More information about the ceremonial "vine cutting" will be available to media members and fans later in the month of August.
