The Corpus Christi IceRays announced their first signing in the new hockey era in Corpus Christi. Justin Quenneville, the team's leading scorer the last two seasons will be back. Quenneville a fan favorite and a top player in the league will remain on the ice for the Corpus Christi IceRays. "This is a huge first signing for us," Pat Dunn general manager said on Friday. "No one plays this game harder and with more passion than Justin. We are very excited about his return to our team."
Quenneville said, "I love Corpus Christi. I love the IceRays and I am really happy to be playing for the new ownership group. The new ownership group has shown its commitment to Corpus Christi and IceRay hockey and I am doing the same thing. I am especially honored to be the first player signed by the new ownership group. It means a lot to me. I have had a number of conversations with Coach Cloutier and I am excited about playing for him as well."
Dunn went on to say that the team will be announcing a series of signings over the next week to assure our fans that we will have not only a team but a really good team. Sylvain has already had a great effect not only on our current players but on other recruits and we should have some additional exiting news on that front very soon. The focus today is that the IceRays number one scorer and team leader Justin Quenneville will be back and ready to play in the 2008/2009 season.
