FORT MILL, S.C. - May 13, 2007 - Two streaks came to an end on Sunday: Norfolk's 6-game losing streak and Charlotte's 4-game win streak after the Tides down the Knights 4-1. Charlotte managed only four hits in the game.
Matt Cepicky went 2-3 with a home run, a double and two RBI for the Tides. Knights DH Toby Hall hit a home run in the 1st inning for Charlotte's only run of the game. Knights 3B Josh Fields saw his nine-game hitting streak come to an end.
Tim Kester (2-3, 5.11) struck out five to get the win for the Tides. Vladimir Nunez (1-4, 4.43) pitched 7 innings, giving up two earned runs and seven strikeouts in the loss.
The two teams will finish out their four-game series on Monday. LHP Heath Phillips (3-2, 4.19) will start for Charlotte. Norfolk will send LHP Garrett Olson (0-4, 4.28) to the mound. Game time is 12:15 p.m.
