BISONS SHUT OUT WINGS The Red Wings fell to the Buffalo Bisons Sunday afternoon at Frontier Fi! eld. Buffalo had a three-run fourth inning and scored another four runs in the ninth to win 8-0. Starting pitcher Scott Baker (3-2) took the loss, allowing four earned runs off eight hits in six innings pitched. Matt Tolbert and Matt Moses had one hit apiece and Tommy Watkins hit two singles (2-for-3). The series concludes with a 7:05 pm game Monday night,
Buffalo's starter, Jeff Harris (2-2), earned the win, holding the Wings to three hits in six innings pitched. Mike Rose was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI. Ben Francisco, Joe Inglett and Ryan Mulhern each had two RBI.
The Bisons picked up a second inning run off Baker. Rose hit a two-out single, and scored on Brad Snyder's double. Then, in the fourth inning, Rose hit a two-RBI single then scored on Ryan Mulhern's RBI single. Carmen Cali relieved Baker in the seventh but was replaced by Brian Bass in the ninth after loading the bases. Francisco hit an RBI single followed by a two-RBI triple by Inglett.
Cali pitched pitched two innings, plus three batters in the ninth. He gave up four hits and allowed three runs. Bass gave up one run off two hits in one inning pitched.
