
The Salt Dogs beat El Paso 12-2

The Lincoln Salt Dogs racked up 18 hits as they demolished the El Paso Diablos 12-2 in the series finale on Wednesday night from Cohen Stadium.
Lincoln had a monstrous six run second inning off of Robbie Wachman. The Salt Dogs sent 13 players to the plate as they bashed three doubles and six base hits off the Diablos starter, taking a 6-0 lead. The Salt Dogs extended the lead to seven runs in the top of the third. Federico Balet picked up his third RBI of the night on a sacrifice fly to left field.
The Salt Dogs would stretch the lead to 10-0 in the top of the seventh. Josh Patton had a two-RBI double in the frame.
El Paso pieced together two runs over the seventh and eighth innings. Jordan Belcher had a run scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. J.D Reininger picked up his first RBI as a Diablo with a single in the eighth.
The Salt Dogs induced four inning ending double plays. Lincoln outscored El Paso 29-12 in the series.
Brian Campbell (2-0) picks up his second professional victory as he tossed seven full allowing just one earned run off of seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Robbie Wachman (4-4) lasted two innings allowing seven earned runs off of nine hits with no walks and one strikeout.
Garvis Romero and Dallas Strankman combined for two scoreless innings of relief.
The Diablos will take Thursday off before opening up a seven game road trip. The Diablos will travel to Sioux City, IA to take on the Explorers on Friday night at 6:05 PM (MST). The game will be broadcast live at www.diablos.com with Jon Barr on the call.
