Pels Air Second Winning Fan Commercial
August 1, 2007 - American Association (AA)
Pensacola Pelicans News Release
This week, the Pensacola Pelicans are using the second of three fan commercials for their TV advertisements. Before the season began, the Pelicans held a contest for fans to create this year's ads. When the contest was over, three spots were chosen.
Sally Costa and son, Nolan, are the producers/actors in the commercial which features Nolan running from his mother to his grandmother saying "Come on, everyone gets to play!" The spot closes with Nolan standing at home plate swinging a bat and saying, "See, I told you everyone gets to play!"
Five spots were produced and submitted to the Pelicans for review. All the spots were then placed on the Pelicans website for the public to view and vote on, which garnered nearly 100,000 votes.
"For the first half of the season, we have used the first spot in our advertising and we have received a good response," said Pelicans General Manager Talmadge Nunnari. "We think these next two spots will be just as effective at portraying what it means to attend a Pelicans game."
The third and final commercial will air during the Pelicans last home stand August 20 - 25.
