
The River Bandits fall for the second straight night to Kane County 6-2 on Friday

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The Quad Cities River Bandits fell behind 6-0 in the first three innings and were only able to scrape together two runs throughout the final six innings of play. The Bandits are now 6-10 on the season against Kane County after falling 6-2 on Friday night.
Jorge Rondon (4-6) made the start for Quad Cities and went just 1.2 innings on the hill. Rondon was charged with five runs on just three hits. He walked four in his sixth loss of the season. Dan Calhoun stopped the bleeding, allowing just one run through his 3.1 innings on the mound. Jesse Simpson, Jason Novak, and Chris Notti combined for four hitless innings following Calhoun. Ian Krol (8-4) picked up the win pitching five innings for Kane County. He allowed just one hit in his eighth win of the season.
Devin Goodwin, Luis Mateo, and Edgar Lara were able to extend their hitting streaks in Friday's contest, as each had a base knock. Lara extended his streak to seven games, while Goodwin and Mateo are each on eight game streaks. Matt Adams was unable to extend his streak to 11 after going 0-for-3. Lara and Rainel Rosario each provided an RBI for the Bandits.
Quad Cities heads to Cedar Rapids on Saturday to start a three-game set with the Kernels. Right-hander Justin Smith (5-0) is scheduled to start against the Kernels righty Ariel Pena (5-2). Game time is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Perfect Game Field.
