The Bloomington PrairieThunder continues preparation for the opening of the 2010-2011 season which begins this Saturday (October 16th) when the PThunder travels to Independence, Missouri to play the Missouri Mavericks. Missouri finished the 2009-2010 season with a record of 31-27-6 and lost in the second round of the CHL Playoffs to the eventual league champion, the Rapid City Rush.

The PrairieThunder roster currently stands at 24 players. Head Coach Jason Christie must get down to the opening day roster of 19 players (17 skaters and 2 goaltenders) by 3pm central on Thursday (October 14th). The organization released four players on Monday; goaltender Patrick Street along with forwards Brent Clarke, Alex Muse, and Casey Mignone. Two players on the current roster, defenseman Aaron Dawson and forward Jon Booras, are day-to-day with lower body injuries. Booras ended up as the team's leading scorer (two points on two assists) in the two pre-season games with Quad City last weekend. The PrairieThunder lost 6-4 on Saturday night in Moline, Illinois and won 1-0 Sunday afternoon in Decatur, Illinois.

Bloomington PrairieThunder single game tickets are on sale at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum Box Office. Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Box Office Monday through Friday from 11am to 5:30pm and on weekends when there are events in the Coliseum. *Annual PrairieThunder "Kick Off" party is Wednesday, October 13th*

The team's annual "Kick Off" party will be held at Baxter's Restaurant, 3212 East Empire Street, on Wednesday, October 13th starting at 5pm. The event is open to all season ticket holders and team sponsors free of charge. Additional tickets are $10.00. Those who attend will be able to pick-up their 2010-2011 season tickets and all members of the team along with Head Coach Jason Christie will be in attendance.

*Wish the players good luck Thursday night at Bandana's Bar-B-Q*

All PrairieThunder fans are invited to meet the team and wish them well before they head to Missouri this Thursday night, October 14th, starting at 7pm at Bandana's Bar-B-Q Restaurant located at 502 IAA Drive in Bloomington.

*PrairieThunder to appear in the ISU Homecoming Parade on Saturday*

The PrairieThunder mascot, Chip, and members of the Fox & Hounds Foxy Ladies will be participating in this year's Illinois State University Homecoming Parade which begins at 9:30am on Saturday morning, October 16th on the ISU campus.

*Meet Chip the Mascot at the Turnberry Village Apartments Open House on Saturday*

Chip, the PrairieThunder mascot, will also be in attendance at the annual Turnberry Village Apartments Open House this coming Saturday starting at 12 noon. PrairieThunder staff will also be on hand with game schedules and ticket information. The Turnberry Village Apartments are located at 901 Valley View Circle in West Bloomington.

*Watch the season opener at the BlueLine Nightclub on Saturday Night*

We invite everyone to the BlueLine Nightclub located at 602 North Main Street in downtown Bloomington for the season's first "Watch Party" as the PrairieThunder opens the season in Missouri against the Missouri Mavericks. The game will be broadcast courtesy of CHL-TV starting at 7pm. Members of the PrairieThunder staff will be in attendance with prizes.

Season tickets and group ticket packages for the 2010-2011 Bloomington Prairie Thunder are still on sale at the team's offices located at 318 W. Washington Street, Suite 1NW, in downtown Bloomington. The PrairieThunder's home opening weekend is Friday & Saturday, October 22nd and 23rd, when Bloomington hosts the Odessa Jackalopes and Tulsa Oilers at 7:05pm each evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
