Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League announced on Tuesday that they have signed forward Brett Wilson. Wilson, 25, is a talented forward with a knack for finding the back of the net.

"Brett Wilson adds skill to our center position. He has scored at every level he has played at. After a year of experience in the ECHL, I expect him to contribute to our team as an offensive player." said Killer Bees coach Chris Brooks.

Last season Wilson suited up for the Trenton Devils (ECHL) where in 57 games he potted 13 goals with 24 assists. As a collegiate player at Princeton, Wilson scored 46 goals in four season and racked up 60 assists good for 10th all-time at Princeton. Wilson was named to the ECAC All-Rookie team and named All-Ivy two years seasons.

"I know a few guys from Calgary who have been down here before. I work out with Aaron Lee in the summer and he said it was an awesome place to play, good team, great rink." Wilson continued. "I thought this would be a great opportunity to come down here and play."

The Bees also announced that they have released Ryan Olidis. Olidis, a forward, saw time in both exhibition games and registered five shots on net.

The Killer Bees open their season this Friday at the State Farm Arena against the Laredo Bucks. Single game and season tickets are now available by calling (956) 843-PUCK (7825).
