Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, WA: The AquaSox bats came alive Friday night thanks, to an impressive show of power that included five home runs, two by Mariners top prospect Noelvi Marte, powering Everett to a 10-5 win over the Vancouver Canadians.
Both Kyle Lewis and Luis Torrens, making their Mariner rehab appearances with Everett, both added to the AquaSox hit parade with homers of their own, Lewis' second in as many days.
Vancouver was able to muster five runs, none of them earned, off of just two hits but was aided by eight AquaSox walks.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Marte hit his second home run of the game with a deep drive to left field for a two-run home run that gave the Frogs some much needed insurance runs. Marte's hot bat has now gone deep three times in the last two nights.
Both Marte and Lewis recorded multi-hit games and combined for five RBI's. Dariel Gomez also homered in the game. Left fielder Cole Barr reached base three times with a single and a pair of walks.
Kyle Hill came in to close out the contest with a five-run lead and finished strong, striking out the final Vancouver batter, securing the victory for Everett.
The AquaSox offense has been putting up some impressive numbers this series, totaling 27 runs in the first four games against Vancouver. They now climb to 8-5 in the second half, sitting atop the Northwest League standings.
Jimmy Joyce recorded his third win of the year, while Vancouver pitcher Ricky Tiedmann (2-2) took the loss.
The AquaSox take on the Canadians in game five of the series tomorrow night at 7:05pm PDT with an appearance from the Amazing Tyler. You can catch the game at Funko Field or on the KRKO radio broadcast.
