Omaha Beef News Release
The Omaha Beef Indoor Football Team is proud to announce that it is teaming up with Toys-R-Us (115 N. 76th St. location) to bring some early Christmas cheer to the children, at Children's Hospital (located at 8200 Dodge St). On Wednesday December 20, 2006 from 2pm-3:15 pm, the Beef will be delivering gifts to patients at the hospital.
In attendance will be the Beef Coaches, General Manager, Cheerleaders, the Rump Roasters, and management staff from Toys-R-Us. Of course, what visit would be complete without two of the people children love best: Geoffrey the Giraffe (Toys-R-Us Mascot) and the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus.
According to Beef coach Rod Miller, " This visit is something that we as both a coaching staff and organization, feel is not just a good thing to do but the right thing to do. So many of our fans are children who come out and make a lot of noise and support us, so it is only fitting that in this holiday time of cheer and giving that we reach out to our fans no matter who or where they may be."
Beef General Manager, Dustin Talacko agreed saying, "We are committed to being an integral part of the community and we are excited to have the opportunity to team up with the Children's Hospital and Toys-R-Us; to put smiles on the faces of children who may not be able to be in their own homes this Christmas."
Children's Hospital is a non-profit organization and serves as the primary in-patient teaching site for the joint Creighton University/University of Nebraska pediatric residency program. Children's also serves as the pediatric training site for the family practice residency programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Creighton University Medical Center, as well as for many of the region's nursing and health professions schools.
Children's Hospital is a part of Children's Healthcare Services, an integrated system of pediatric healthcare services which includes Children's Home Healthcare, Children's Family Support Center, Children's Urgent Care Centers, Children's Health Network, Children's Hospital Foundation, and Children's Physicians.
