
The NBA Is Coming to Windsor

On Thursday, November 5th, 2015 the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada will host an exhibition game against Raptors 905 of the NBA Development League at the WFCU Centre, presented by LiUNA 625. Tip off is at 7:30pm.
This will be a historic event as no NBL Canada team has ever faced off against an NBA D-League team.
Raptors 905 is the official affiliate of the Toronto Raptors of the NBA. 2015-2016 will be the inaugural season for the Raptors 905 franchise who play their home games out of the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Raptors 905 is the first Canadian-based NBA D-League team.
"We are excited to play our first Raptors 905 exhibition game as a franchise in Windsor," said Dan Tolzman, General Manager of Raptors 905. "The Express is one of the top teams in the NBL and will provide our team with a great challenge as we prepare for this inaugural NBA D-League season."
"This will be a great opportunity for basketball fans in Canada and fans of the NBL", said Windsor Express president Dartis Willis.
In an effort to continue to support the local community, the Express has selected Transition to Betterness (T2B) to be the benefitting charitable partner of the game. T2B is a local grass roots charity dedicated to providing comfort for patients and families impacted by a life altering illness. 50% of all ticket sales will be donated to Transition to Betterness, along with proceeds from the 50/50 draw and other prize raffle draws.
General admission tickets are $5.00.
Reserved courtside tickets are available for $10.00 (limited availability).
Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, October 20th at 10:00am at the Teksavvy.com box office inside the WFCU Centre. Online orders will also be available at that time at www.wfcu-centre.com.
In partnership with WEtech Alliance, a special pre-game event will feature former Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) president and Windsor native, Richard Peddie providing his "Lessons from a Gym Bag" discussion based on his new book, 21 Leadership Lessons. This is a private ticketed event with limited availability.
Tickets to the private event will be available for $21.00 and include a copy of Mr. Peddie's new book, as well as a courtside ticket to the game. Call 519-800-3665 for more information and to book a ticket to the special event.
Mr. Peddie will also be available to fans for a book signing during halftime.
