
The Fury present their game schedule for the upcoming 2006-07 UHL season

MUSKEGON, MI.--- Embarking on their 15th season as a member of the United Hockey League, the all-time top winning team in league history, the Muskegon Fury, in conjunction with the UHL, have unveiled their regular season schedule for the 2006-07 season. Coming off of their second best winning season in franchise history in 2005-06, the Fury will participate in a schedule consisting of 76-games spread over 26-weeks spanning from opening night, Friday night, October 13, 2006 through the regular season finale of Saturday, April 7, 2007.
It is yet another outstanding game schedule for Muskegon; in fact it may be deemed one of the better ones in the rich, tradition-steeped franchise history under the banner of the Fury. For all local denizens of the Muskegon community and the greater Lakeshore area, the "Furious Ones" schedule is a most attractive one with genuine, immense fan appeal. Once again, the Fury will be presenting top choice, premium home dates for the upcoming campaign. To amplify, all 38 of the Fury's home dates at L.C. Walker Arena have been designated as either prime-time weekend dates, attractive weekday dates and/or holiday vacation time.
Included in this season's Fury schedule of home dates, specifically, are 17-SATURDAY NIGHTS; 11-FRIDAY NIGHTS and 6-SUNDAY MATINEE GAMES. There are three more dates during the holiday season on the Muskegon docket; the annual traditional Thanksgiving night home appearance on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD and the Christmas vacation week dates of TUESDAY, DECEMBER 26TH and WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 27TH.
For the second consecutive year, the Fury will continue their special "School Day Game." The date for that special contest is set for WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10TH AT 10:30 AM at Walker Arena with their divisional rivals, the Flint Generals providing the opposition for the second straight year.
The Fury will actually inaugurate their 15th UHL season with a two-game home stand, commencing with opening night, FRIDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 13TH AT 7:30 PM as they welcome the debuting Bloomington Prairie Thunder to town. They will cap it the following night, SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 14TH, 7:30 PM, clashing with one of their long-time archrivals, the Quad City Mallards.
Game times for the Fury home action this season will be identical to last year. All home games scheduled Monday through Saturday nights will have an opening face-off of 7:30 pm, excluding the special January 10th date. All Sunday games will be on the docket as 2:00 pm matinee affairs.
Through divisional realignment effective with the 2006-07 season, the Fury will be members of the Eastern Division which will be comprised of fellow Michigan rivals, the Flint Generals, Kalamazoo Wings and Port Huron Flags, along with the Elmira Jackals. The Western Division's membership will consist of the Bloomington Prairie Thunder, Chicago Hounds (formerly Richmond River Dogs), Fort Wayne Komets, Quad City Mallards and Rockford Ice Hogs.
The Fury's in-state rivalries will be accentuated in the new season's schedule as 34 of their 43-games within their own division will be played against Kalamazoo (12; 6-home, 6-away); Flint (11; 6-home, 5-away); Port Huron (11; 5-home, 6-away). There are 9-more meetings against Elmira (4-home, 5-away). Completing the Fury's latest slate will be 33-games against the Western Division. The Fury will collide with Fort Wayne (3-home, 4-away); Quad City (4-home, 3-away) and Rockford (4-home, 3-away) each 7-times and Bloomington (3-home, 3-away) and Chicago (3-home, 3-away) both 6-times.
The most ambitious month for fourth-year head coach Todd Nelson's contingent will be March where the Fury face a daunting 16-games' schedule with 9- of those offerings being abroad. Muskegon will play its most home games in December (8), January (7) and March (7).
There will be 15-times during the regular phase in which the Fury will be confronted with the rigorous assignment consisting of 3-games in 3-nights. Six more times they will face 4-games in 5-nights.
The Fury will be confirming their 2006-07 pre-season game schedule at a future date.
