The Bucks Come to Green Bay

The Green Bay Blizzard are back to work this week following their second bye of the season. They will be taking on the Bismarck Bucks on Saturday night at the Resch Center.

The Bucks are coming off a dramatic win over the Steamwheelers last week 51 to 48. Both teams combined for 29 total points in the last minute of the game with Bismarck scoring on a 25-yard touchdown pass with only 6 seconds to play.

The Bucks have won 2 games in a row after losing their first 6 to improve their record to 2 and 6. They are led by quarterback John Gibbs who leads the team in both passing and rushing yards. IFL veteran wide receiver and kick returner Mike Tatum joined the Bucks after their second game this year and has delivered the veteran leadership for this young team that has started to take shape in the last 2 games.

The Blizzard are coming off another last-minute outcome back on April 20, losing to the Nebraska Danger on the last play of the game when quarterback Lenorris Footman threw his 6 th interception of the season in the end zone to seal the 47 to 40 win for the Danger. Footman leads the Blizzard in passing and rushing yards this season and is second in the league averaging almost 60 rushing yards per game.

Defensively the Blizzard are 5 th in the league in yards given up per game with the Bucks dead last. The Blizzard are tied for second in interceptions and third in sacks. The Bucks have only one interception all season and only 2 sacks.

Saturday night's game is Superhero versus Villain Night sponsored by Asphalt Seal and Repair, Wondersign and CW14. The first 1000 kids and the first 1000 adults will be able to choose a hero or villain t-shirt. There will also be a costume contest with prizes and $3 Miller Light. Doors open at 6:05 with kickoff at 7:05 so get there early.
