Big Valley Shockwave News Release
Turlock, CA. Kenny R. Trader, Jr., President and CEO of Champion Sports Management, Inc, issued a statement of thanks to the people of Turlock, Stockton, Modesto and others in the San Joaquin Valley for the overwhelming positive response to the news of his new ABA team that will begin play in November.
"Since we announced the team, it has been very exciting and we are very thankful for the way the citizens of Big Valley have embraced the team," said Trader. "With the success of the local colleges in collegiate basketball, the national recognition garnered by the emergence of local prep phenomenon Jackie Gemelos and the high degree of public interest in professional basketball, we believe the ABA will be a tremendous addition to the world of professional sports in the San Joaquin Valley. We will provide professional basketball and entertainment at affordable fan friendly prices and create more playing opportunities and jobs for local players and citizens.
Community involvement is a top priority for our organization. We want to work very closely with the community so that we may be a contributing factor in the renaissance and vision as stated by the area's leaders. Our desire to give back to the community through a host of vehicles: such as conducting camps and clinics for kids, visiting with non-profit organizations such as local schools, boys & girls clubs, shelters and so on. Our commitment to the community will be unquestioned. Furthermore, we believe in the pleasant, hard working and decent spirit of the San Joaquin Valley. The Valley is on the rise and we want to add value and become a major contributor in this community."

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
