Shockwave come up short to Fame

December 4, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Big Valley Shockwave News Release

The Hollywood Fame proved to be too much for the home Big Valley Shockwave as 6 players recorded double figures in a 117-105 American Basketball Association contest at Pitman High School in Turlock Ca.

The Shockwave, coming off a 109-108 overtime victory over the Sacramento Heatwave on Friday, came out "shocked" themselves as the Fame built a 37-17 lead after the opening quarter, and a 66-40 halftime lead. However, thanks to 15 second half 3-pointers, the Shockwave were able to keep it close throughout the the rest of the game. But in the end, while fighting off several Shockwave runs, the Fame came out on top.

Justin Isham led the Fame with 27 points, along with guard Billy Knight's 23. Center Leland Anderson added 19, while Lionel Davis chipped in with 11.

For the Shockwave, they were led by guard Calvert Wright's 28, which included 7-3 pointers ( 6 coming in the 2nd half ), along with Myree Bowden's 19.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
