Buffalo Silverbacks News Release
Buffalo, NY. Linda Hansen, Director of Youth & Family Services for the Lt. Col. Matt Urban Human Services Center of WNY wrote: "On June 21st, the T.J. Dulski Center had the honor of hosting Mr. DeRon Rutledge and Mr. Modie Cox clinic "Do Your Best, Never Quit." (DeRon and Modie are two of the ABA Bufflalo Silverbacks players).
DeRon and Modie were instant hits with the approximate 25 kids that showed up. They performed basketball drills and handed out autographed cards to the kids. The part that had the most impact was when Modie spoke to the kids about doing their best and never quitting. The next day our kids were so pumped up about the players that they used many parts of the Do Your Best Never Quit presentation in their conversations with each other. They even imitated the players in a very complimentary way.
My staff and myself attended the clinic and were very touched by their message to our kids. I would encourage any youth group, school or camp to invite the Silverbacks and enjoy their energy and heartfelt message. Thank you for this opportunity."
Do Your Best, Never Quit life seminars teach youths to focus on the effort they apply to a situation rather than the result. It's not about the win or loss, it's about believing in yourself and doing your best. The Buffalo Silverbacks would like to give a special thanks to Creditors Interchange for supporting the Do Your Best, Never Quit initiative. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
