Texas Legends News Release

Boise, Idaho - In a back-and-forth battle, the Texas Legends ended up on top as they earned their second straight victory on the road Saturday night, with a 117-114 win against the Idaho Stampede from Qwest Arena.

In a game that saw 17 lead changes and was tied 14 times, it was the Legends, for the second night in a row, overcoming a large deficit late in the game.

Down six with under two minutes to go in the game, Legends' Justin Dentmon and Booker Woodfox hit back-to-back three pointers to tie the game up.

After Salim Stoudamire nailed a couple of free throws to put Idaho back on top, Texas' leader this season, Antonio Daniels, scooped in a lay-up and drew the foul giving the Legends a chance to take the lead with under a minute left. With the free throw shot rolling around the rim, Sean Williams came off the block and dunked it home, putting the Legends up by two. Texas then hit nine of their final ten free throws in the closing 30 seconds to put their second win in franchise history in the books.

On a night that the Legends shot a season best 58.8% from the field, Daniels and Justin Dentmon led the squad with 22 points each. For the second straight night Daniels and Joe Alexander boasted a double-double effort. The veteran guard coupled his 22 points with a game-high 11 assists, while Alexander scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

With Keith Clark sitting out with an injury from last night, Williams along with his frontcourt mate Matt Rogers had 14 points apiece. The Legends spread the scoring with every active player, nine in all, scoring in the first half. As they did last evening, Texas had six double-digit scorers.

The Legends improved to 2-1 with the victory as the Stampede are still in search of their first win of the season, dropping their record to 0-3.

All eyes are now focused on Frisco. Texas will host their first home game in franchise history on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. inside Dr Pepper Arena against the Austin Toros.
