CARY, N.C. - The North Carolina Courage have today removed forward Tess Boade from the 45-day injured reserve. Boade becomes the 26th active player on the Courage roster, matching the NWSL limit.
Boade appeared in five regular season games and made four starts, scoring twice and adding an assist as a rookie in 2022. She made her professional debut on March 19, 2022 in a Challenge Cup matchup against Gotham FC.
Boade injured her shoulder while on loan in Australia over the off-season. She signed with the Courage in March of 2021 after a stint as a preseason trialist. Boade was originally drafted 40th overall by Gotham in 2021 but utilized a COVID-19 waiver to return to Duke for a fifth season to continue her impressive collegiate career that included All-ACC and All-Region honors.
The Courage now have 26 active players on their roster and one on the Season-Ending Injury list. The team returns to action on Sunday, May 14, when they host OL Reign at 3:00 p.m. ET. The game will stream live on Paramount+ and tickets are on sale.
