Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON, December 8, 2014)- The Peterborough Petes are excited to announce the details surrounding the annual Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by Ricky's All Day Grill in support of the Salvation Army and Energy 99.7/Country 105 Miracle Toy Drive. The Teddy Bear Toss will take place this Thursday, December 11 as the Petes play the Niagara IceDogs.

The Teddy Bear Toss is a CHL-wide initiative that provides gifts for children in need during the holiday season. Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a new or slightly used, clean stuffed animal which can be thrown onto the ice when the Petes score their first goal of the game.

Ricky's All Day Grill will again donate 25 cents for every stuffed animal tossed onto the ice and will be assisting with the ice clean-up effort. Last year, Petes fans tossed over 2,000 stuffed animals onto the Memorial Centre ice.

If the first Petes goal is scored with less than two minutes remaining in the first or second period, the intermission will commence immediately and the remaining time on the clock will be played prior to the beginning of the next period, with a one-minute break in-between. Winslow-Gerolamy Motors Limited will once again provide teddy bear transportation.

Fans are reminded that the Petes Store is sold out of Roger Mascot Dolls, and they will not be available for purchase for the Teddy Bear Toss game.

The Salvation Army Peterborough Temple Band will be performing the Canadian National Anthem prior to the game, as well as Christmas carols in the North Lobby starting at 6:20pm.

The Petes' opponents on Thursday night are the Niagara IceDogs. Niagara currently sits ninth in the OHL Eastern Conference. Tickets are available here for Thursday's game.
