Teddy Bear Toss Sunday
Published on December 11, 2009 under Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
The fur will literally be flying at the BOK Center on Sunday afternoon. The Tulsa Oilers will host the Arizona Sundogs at 4:05 p.m. in the first game ever between the two teams. It is also the Oilers annual Teddy Bear toss.
Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears to the game. They can show them at the fan assistance center and receive a coupon good for an $8 discount for the Christmas night game against Wichita. Then when the Oilers score their first goal Sunday against Arizona, fans will throw the bears onto the ice. They will be collected and distributed to various agencies.
"It's quite the sight to see all the bears flying through the arena and our fans have always responded with a great turnout so we'd like to see that again this year," Oilers general manager Taylor Hall said. "It really is one of the most promotions of the season."
Hall said the Oilers plan to donate the bears to agencies such as Laura Dester Children's Shelter, St. Francis Children's Hospital, Domestic Violence Intervention Services, and the Salvation Army.
In addition to the teddy bear toss, the first 1,000 fans at Sunday's game will also receive a gas card from Murphy USA. Each card will have a minimum of $1 on it and some will have amounts up to $250 on them. The Oilers play Friday night at Allen at 7:35 p.m., and host the Texas Brahmas Saturday at 7:35 p.m. prior to the Teddy Bear toss game on Sunday against Arizona. All games can be heard via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and viewed at CHL TV.
Tickets for all Oilers games are available at the BOK Center box office or by calling 1-866-7-BOK CTR (726-5287). Tickets can also be purchased on line at www.tulsaoilers.com and at area Reasor's Grocery Stores.
