Charlottetown Islanders News Release

Charlottetown - December is approaching and the Charlottetown Islanders and Atlantic Bus have teamed up to help bring some happiness to Island children this Christmas.

From now until Dec. 15, teddy bears will be accepted at the Maritime Bus terminal on Mount Edward Road.

On Friday Dec. 16 at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, the final tally will be made after the annual teddy bear toss in the first period of a game between the Charlottetown Islanders and the Moncton Wildcats.

Jason MacLean is the director of Sales and Marketing. He and the entire organization have big expectations for this year's teddy bear toss.

"This is a great tradition across the Canadian Hockey League. We'd like to set the standard across the QMJHL and partnering with Atlantic Bus will help us do that."

Along with the drop-off at the Maritime Bus terminal at 7 Mt. Edward Road, you can also drop-off at the Charlottetown Flea Market (161 St. Peter's Rd, Sherwood Shopping Centre) on Sunday Nov. 27th and Dec. 4th between 9am and 2pm.

After all the teddy bears are collected on December 16th at the Islanders game, they will be donated to local children's charities.

Join the fun on Dec. 16th when the Islanders take on the Moncton Wildcats. After the first Islanders goal, everyone is asked to toss those teddy bears onto the ice!
