December 2, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Peoria Rivermen News Release

The Peoria Rivermen are pleased to announce that this year's "Teddy Bear Toss" will take place during the Rivermen game against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. The team will also be collecting coats to donate to the Salvation Army's Coats for Kids efforts.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently-used stuffed animal to donate by tossing it onto the ice following the first Rivermen goal of the game. The toys will be collected and donated to the Crittenton Centers and the Salvation Army to distribute during the holiday season. Over the past three seasons, more than 1,000 bears have been collected.

The Salavation Army will be holding their Coats for Kids drive at Carver Arena where fans can bring new or gently-used coats to drop off as they enter the arena.

The first 500 fans who donate a coat or bring a teddy bear to toss onto the ice will receive a ticket voucher as they enter the arena good for any game for the rest of the 2010-11 season (excluding April 9).
